Old English Gin & Tonic Recipe

It’s a hot day today in our sunny home town of Ghent, and yes, you guessed it right, an excellent day for a refreshing gin and tonic! We’ve selected Old English Gin as our protagonist for the recipe of today. This gin will ring a bell to some of you, since it was awarded Best Gin of 2015 at the World Gin Awards this year. If you don’t know Old English Gin, then be sure to try it out, preferably in our signature Old English Gin & Tonic recipe. By the way, you can (re)read our Old English Gin Review here on the blog.

Have a great day!

Old English Gin & Tonic: A Perfect Serve

Take a large balloon glass and fill it up with ice (use a lot, about 2/3 of the glass). Stir the ice inside the glass to let it cool (you can use a bar spoon for this). Remove any excess water with a cocktail strainer. Add the grapefruit zest together with a sprig of licorice. Don’t forget to add 5 cL of Old English Gin to your glass! Next, add a half bottle of Schweppes Premium Mixer: Pink Pepper. Try doing this at the edge of your glass, but you can also use a bar spoon for this. Just try to keep the bubbles of your tonic in stead of pouring in the tonic all at once and lose any sparkling sensation while drinking your GT.

Cheers!
