The warm Scottish one
My dear Gincubator-friends,
After our GILT review yesterday, we’re bringing you a G&T recipe with the wonderful gin. Perfect for New Year’s Eve (but actually, also for all other evenings)!
Here we go!
What do you need?
– A balloon glass like the one in the picture (this is imperative!) with lots of ice
– 5 cL GILT Gin (1.7 oz)
– two or three pieces of green cardamom
– Lemon zest (one piece)
– Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water
Take a large balloon glass and fill it up with ice (use a lot, about 2/3 of the glass). Stir the ice inside the glass to let it cool. Remove any excess water, you can use a cocktail strainer for this. After adding 5 cL Gilt gin, add the cardamom together with the lemon zest. Before you add the zest, make sure you twist it above the glass. By doing this, essential oils from the lemon will be more pronounced in your gin and tonic. Add about 100 – 125 ml of the FT Mediterranean tonic water. Try doing this at the edge of your glass, but you can also use a bar spoon of course. Just try to keep the bubbles of your tonic in stead of pouring in the tonic all at once and lose any sparkling sensation while drinking your GT. Now this is a gin & tonic that truly invites you to a great party (and it opens up your taste buds as well!). Serve with pride!
The only thing left for me to do is to wish you a very happy 2015 with lots and lots of gin & tonics! See you guys next year!
Wishing you all the best for the new year,
P.S. If you want to prepare the perfect Gin & Tonic, come back soon and read it on G&T Recipes. We’ll let you know when it comes up.
