A New Week, A New G&T Recipe – Colombian Aged Gin & Tonic

And this week, we would like to start off with a bang – with the one, and only, Colombian Aged Gin. The Colombian Aged Gin is finished for 35 weeks in ex-rum casks, previously used to mature Dictador Rum. Next to the finish in oak barrels, this Colombian Aged Gin has a very characteristic, yet exotic flavour due to the use of the ‘Limon Mandarino’. This fruit combines the sweetness of the tangerine with the acidity of lemon. A distinct touch which gives this spirit that extra punch. Enjoyable neat, or on the rocks, whichever one you prefer. Of course, we’re going to combine this gin with a great tonic water. Give it a try, ’cause you will be amazed. Cheers!

Ingredients for our Signature Colombian Aged Gin & Tonic

–     A balloon glass like the one in the picture (this is imperative!) with lots of ice
–     5 cL Colombian Aged Gin
–     Two pieces of orange zest (can be either fresh or dried zest)
–     One cinnamon stick
–     Thomas Henry Tonic Water

Colombian Aged Gin & Tonic Recipe: A Perfect Serve

Take a large balloon glass and fill it up with ice (use a lot, about 2/3 of the glass minimum). Stir the ice inside the glass to let it cool. Remove any excess water, you can use a cocktail strainer for this. After adding 5 cL of Colombian Aged Gin, add two pieces of orange zest. You can take either fresh or dried. Take one cinnamon stick and break it in two. Add one of the two pieces to your glass. Finish off with about 100 –  125 ml of Thomas Henry tonic water. Try doing this at the edge of your glass, but you can also use a bar spoon of course. Just try to keep the bubbles of your tonic in stead of pouring in the tonic all at once and lose any sparkling sensation while drinking your GT. Serve with pride!
