Pure Belgian: Biercée Gin & Tonic Recipe for our National Holiday

Tomorrow is Belgian’s National Holiday and we already made the preparations – a big enough supply of Biercée Gin! 🙂 Pure Belgian, this Biercée Gin & Tonic will definitely conquer many hearts. Biercée Gin is one of the great products of Belgian’s Distillerie de Biercée’s: complex and full of flavour. This gin has a malty base with a great fennel touch, finishing off with some spicy notes. A must-try!

Ingredients for our Signature Biercée Gin & Tonic

–     A balloon glass like the one in the picture with lots of ice
–     5 cL Biercée Gin
–     Three to five chocolate pellets (we used the ones from Belgium’s Callebaut))
–     One piece of star anise
–     Thomas Henry Tonic Water

Biercée Gin & Tonic Recipe: A Perfect Serve

Take a large balloon glass and fill it up with ice (use a lot, about 2/3 of the glass minimum). Stir the ice inside the glass to let it cool. Remove any excess water, you can use a cocktail strainer for this. After adding the chocolate pellets and star anise to your glass, pour in 5 cL of pure Belgian Biercée Gin. Finish off with about 100 –  125 ml of Thomas Henry tonic water. Try doing this at the edge of your glass, but you can also use a bar spoon Just try to keep the bubbles of your tonic in stead of pouring in the tonic all at once and lose any sparkling sensation while drinking your GT. Serve with pride! And don’t forget to hug a Belgian person this 21st of July! 🙂

PS: Just this small tip: first eat one of those chocolate pellets, after which you take a sip of your glass. The combination of a full chocolaty flavour and the freshness of the Gin & Tonic is truly great!
